Palma, March 2, 2024. - The Concello da Coruña has awarded APSL, a Nagarro company, the contract for the evolutionary, corrective, adaptive, preventive maintenance, support, and training services of the IRIS2 platform for managing complaints, suggestions, and claims until 2026, with the possibility of extension until 2028.
The A Coruña City Council initially implemented IRIS2 as a Suggestion and Claim management system to serve citizens and has now tendered its maintenance to definitively implement it as a tool that allows for efficient municipal management of citizen requests. This tool was previously developed by APSL, a Nagarro company, together with the Barcelona City Council from 2018 to 2021 and is now OpenSource.
During the execution of the contract, APSL, a Nagarro company, will offer maintenance of the IRIS2 application, covering a variety of tasks aimed at optimizing and maintaining the operation of the IRIS2 application. This also includes investigating possible incidents in the system, monitoring and applying corrections related to security issues, as well as improvements or new functionalities from the IRIS2 Community repository.
Additionally, work will be done to improve functionalities in the application's architecture, as well as in the development of new functionalities suggested by the City Council, with the aim of making them usable for other administrations, and the development of specific and modular customizations for A Coruña, to improve the interaction between all the City Council's tools, including the adaptation of new clients or products related to the project. On the other hand, the contract will include functional and technical advice, as well as training for the City Council's managers and trainers.
This platform, which is available to all municipalities through contracting APSL, a Nagarro company, focuses on optimizing citizen attention by intelligently distributing requests through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This innovative approach ensures efficient task distribution and responses, significantly accelerating response times for citizens.
This distribution also allows for a reduction in errors in the distribution of tasks between departments. In the case of the Barcelona City Council, the initial developer of the IRIS platform, errors were reduced by 50% when APSL, a Nagarro company, contributed Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to the system.
NIRIS is currently operating in the Barcelona City Council and the Concello da Coruña, demonstrating that it is a robust and proven product. In the Barcelona City Council in 2023, a total of 387,382 requests were managed through this platform, which were resolved and responded to in an average of 7.6 days.
